I was London's mentor in a photography program called First Exposures in San Francisco for about two years. Since January of 2008 I've been working with him to shoot a movie called "Failed Soulless Alchemy," which he's writing and directing. It's about Saffron North, a lonely photographer who is forced by unruly gangs from the afterlife to capture 1,000 souls with his camera. Tensions mount as the groups struggle for control of the Embarcadero Center. I also appear as Bob, a guy who lives at the mall and enjoys milkshakes.

We finished the trailer and London graduated from high school. He also graduated from the First Exposures program, which caps students at 18. As a final celebration for the program, the students showed their work at the SF Public Library. London's movie poster was a hit, which got me thinking about putting together some documentation of behind-the-scenes movie work. Here is an old piece of footage from the winter of '07-'08, which inspired the title of the movie about the movie.
