Mary Barbara DeNest
Here's Mary Barbara. (uhh, "upper 80's" she tells me). Mary B. is part of the "family" at the Jeanne Juggan Residence run by the Little Sisters of The Poor. Mary was a buyer for a local department store. How she loved to take the train to New York for her monthly buying tours. Her favorite part of the trip was not the buying spree, but meeting the guys in the bar car. "Yeah, I loved to be with the guys, most were salesmen or other buyers going up to Gotham. Good guys. Loved the 'give and take' of it all."
One day I asked Mary to share one of her "pearls of wisdom". She shot back: "Stay single. Drink good booze!"
